Brooke's Bistro takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of Brooke's Bistro:

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Brooke's Bistro is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Additional accessibility considerations

Once live the site will be put through Site Improve programme to further improve any accessibility issues and functionality. Also propose to include the Userway accessibility widget for improved access.

Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of Brooke's Bistro , there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for Brooke's Bistro:

  1. Some images or sections of the website may not display correctly when zoomed in due to restrictions of the CMS system. : because . Monitor any comments, respond within 2 business days and continually improve the site. Please email about any issues you find.

  2. Standard browser zoom - At 200% possible issues with the layout and the site gains a horizontal scroll bar. The next testable step of 400% (the GDS has just validated us on this level) and the site is not usable.

  3. Zooming text only – testing up to 200% (again GDS has just tested us on this) which can only be tested properly in Firefox and elements of the site become unreadable, text gets cut half or words split.

  4. The flyout menu may not work well if you use keyboard to navigate.
